After a very wet spring for some, we’re finally rounding the corner into summertime territory — so breakout those shorts and flip flops! And everyone here at Newscom can’t wait to see more fresh and sunny pictures coming up. But until then, we’ve rounded up some of the best pictures we’ve seen from May, and are excited to share them with you.

It was a big month for some sports. American Pharaoh won big a the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, while Floyd Mayweather, Jr. beat out favorite underdog Manny Pacquiao in a billed “Fight of the Century” boxing match.

In the news, we saw many heartbreaking, and also heartwarming pictures from Nepal after two devastating earthquakes last month. See more coverage and great pictures from Nepal here.
